GAD Documentary Films
A short documentary film on the architecture of the Kuum Hotel in Göltürkbükü, Bodrum, Turkey by GAD Architecture led by Gokhan Avcioglu presented by architecture critic Gokhan Karakus. The film looks at the architecture of this hotel and resort located in the Bodrum Peninsula on the Aegean Sea coastline of Turkey. The architecture critic Gokhan Karakus takes viewers on a tour of the architecture of this hotel that creates a new natural and formal language in a contemporary approach to living on the Turkish Aegean including an interview with the client and previous owner Irfan Kuris. Karakus critically notes the architectural strategy of site optimisation based on “genius loci” the experience of the landscape and sea where each room has unique views while being embedded into the topography. The Kuum Hotel is an organic design that subtly creates an experience of nature that the film's photography emphasizes. The design, atmospheric and ecological features of the Turkish Aegean coast that is the subject of this documentary film series on GAD architectural projects in Bodrum are further detailed in the organic architecture of the Kuum Hotel by GAD.
