Ferda Kolatan Lecture

The GAD Foundation organised a lecture by Ferda Kolatan for October 4th, 2018 at Istanbul Technical University, Taskisla campus in Istanbul entitled “Hybrids and Crossbreeds, A Case for Ambiguous Architecture”. The lecture which focused on Kolatan’s ideas of mixing architectural forms to generate “Ambiguous Architecture” was attended by architecture students and faculty members of architecture schools in Istanbul and also the visiting students from Ferda Kolatan’s PennDesign studio and Winka Dubbeldam, Chair and Miller Professor of Architectureat PennDesign, University of Pennsylavania.

Ferda Kolatan is the Founding Director of SU11 Architecture+Design in New York and an Associate Professor of Practice at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his Architectural Diploma from the RWTH Aachen and his Masters in Architecture from Columbia University with an Honor Award for Excellence in Design. Mr. Kolatan has taught previously at SCI-Arc, Pratt Institute, Columbia University, and other institutions. He co-authored the book "Meander: Variegating Architecture” and is the author of the forthcoming book "Real Fictions Cairo”.
