Theodosius Harbor, Yenikapı and Istanbul focus of online discussion on GAD Foundation YouTube Live

On August 10, the GAD Foundation brought together architect Korhan Gümüş and urban planner and academician Murat Güvenç with moderator Gökhan Avcioğlu of GAD for an online discussion on GAD Foundation’s YouTube channel about the Yenikapı site in Istanbul. After a discussion about the geomorphological properties and history of the area – and the importance of the archaeological artifacts and ship remains that survived – the debate turned to the political situation and the future status of the site. Gümüş, Güvenç and Avcioglu brought the discussion to the point of how we as architects and urban planners – as well as authorities, students, academics, and the public – can implement our ideas given the site’s historical complexity and administrative issues.
