Sloped House, Bodrum

gad-slopedhouse-01

Sloped House is in Bodrum, located on sloped land surrounded by olive trees with a beautiful view of the Hebil bay.
The Sloped House is the first of five houses that will be built on a 7-acre plot of land on a hill. Each house will be modeled on the first but designed with the flexibility to remove or add a levels as necessary to fit the slope of the land. GAD’s aim was to design the houses in harmony with their natural setting so they blend in and do not harm the environment or call for any olive trees to be destroyed.

The roof of the house works as a ramp with the living spaces underneath. The first floor accommodates a guest room and bathroom, the living room and kitchen are on the second floor, and the third is occupied by the master bedrooms and bathrooms. Traditional materials such as wood and stone mixed with industrial components are employed throughout. The open plan allows for all the interior spaces to be submerged in natural light and beautiful bay views can be seen from all angles through the floor to ceiling glass walls that run the length of the building.
